Man held for duping girls on false job promise
Ludhiana, Nov 3 (UNI) Conman Amarjit Singh, who took nearly two dozen girls to Goa recently on the pretext of getting them recruited in the Army as nurses, was today arrested by Jagroan police from Nanaksar.
Senior Superintendent of Police R K Jaiswal told media persons that Amarjit, a former Army cook, during interrogation revealed that he took Rs 10,000 to 40,000 from the girls' parents and took them to Goa for arranging their recruitment in the Army as nurses.
He was arrested under sections 406,419,420,344,346,347 and 506 of the IPC and sections 25,54 and 59 of the Arms Act on the complaints of girls, who came back from Goa despite staying their for a month and didnot get job, said the SSP.
