Malegoan blast suspect remanded to custody till Nov 6

Mumbai, Nov 3 (UNI) Shabbir Batterywala, mastermind of the Malegaon blasts in September that left 31 dead, was today remanded in the Anti-Terrorist Squad(ATS) custody here till November six.

Batterywala, the owner of the godown where the explosives were stored and one of the conspirators of the blast, was arrested by the ATS earlier.

Batterywala, who is the second suspect charged with the blasts, was sent to ATS custody by a local court in Malegoan.

Earlier, the ATS had arrested another accused Noor Samsudoha for his suspected involvement in the blasts.

Batterywala was in police custody after his arrest by the Crime Branch for his suspected involvement in the 7/11 serial blasts and was booked under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act, police source said.
