J'khand HC directs Garwah SP to produce Bhanu's record before nov 10
Ranchi, Nov 3 (UNI) Jharkhand High Court today directed the Superintendent of Police, Garwah, to produce all records regarding a criminal case of Bhawnathpur's MLA Bhanu Pratap Shahi by November 10.
A division bench comprising Chief Justice Muthusamy Karpagavinaygam and Justice Permod Kohli passed the order while hearing a writ petition of its own motion.
The court also directed the Inspector General (Administration), all Investigating Officers (IOs) and an inspector of Crime Investigation Department (CID) to appear before the court on November 10.
The judges took serious note when one Mr Rajeev Ranjan appeared on behalf of five IOs and informed the court that staying of the procedure of warrant of arrest of Shahi was done on the direction of IG administration.
Mr Ranjan pointed out the IOs had received a fax copy sent by the IG regarding staying of the procedure.
On November one Mr Shahi had surrendred before the Garwah Chief Judicial Magistrate in-charge in an alleged manhandling case of a panchayat sevak, Ganesh Tiwary.
Mr Shahi along with four others was sent to judicial custody in this connection.
The investigating officer earlier had withdrawn the warrants saying there was not enough evidence against the MLA prompting the High Court to intervene.
