IOC outplay Namdharis for third place at National Hockey tourney

Jalandhar, Nov 3 (UNI) Last year's runners-up Indian Oil Corporation Limited beat Namdhari XI of Bhaini Sahib by 7-2 in the Hardline Cup to finish third in the Dainik Bhaksar-Tracer 62nd National Hockey Championship at the Olympian Surjit Hockey Stadium here today.

The star-studded Indian Oil Corporation played a fluent game today and scored through Olympian Prabhjot Singh (19th and 30th minutes), international Inderjit Singh Chadha (41st, 69th), Bikramjit Singh (55th, 62nd, both penalty corners) and Bharat Chikra (52nd).

Namdharis reduced the margin through Sher Singh (32nd) and Gurpreet Singh.
