Hooda announces bonanza incentives
Chandigarh, Nov 3 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today announced free drinking water connections for eight lakh Scheduled Caste families while 22 lakh families will get them on 'easy terms.'' He also announced monthly honorarium for members of Zila Parishad and Municipal Corporation, Faridabad and Members of Municipal Council, members of Block Samiti, Municipalities and Panchayats and grant of Rs one lakh to 174 registered ''goshalas'' in the State.
The Chief Minister, who was addressing a public meeting at Sampla near Rohtak, said these three schemes would be effective from November 1, 2006, the Haryana Day.
Mr Hooda said the beneficiaries would not have to pay the connection fee for one year, which was Rs 500 in case of rural areas and Rs 1000 in case of urban areas.
He said that the Government would bear the entire cost of release of drinking water connection to the Scheduled Castes families, which would also be given water storage tank of 200 litre capacity along with a tap free of cost.
Mr Hooda also announced to declare Sampla as a Municipal Committee. A polytechnic named after the noted peasant leader Sir Chhotu Ram, would be set up at a cost of Rs 15 crore in his birthplace Sampla.
Sir Chhotu Ram Museum at Sampla would be developed as a tourist complex with facility of fast food corner, floating restaurant and a park at a cost of Rs 5 crore. He added that construction of a by-pass for village Kheri Sadh had also been planned.
Mr Hooda also approved construction of additional block in Government Girls College. He announced that a new building for Block Development and Panchayat Office and Tehsil office at Sampla would be constructed at a cost of Rs 2.60 crore.
He said that since Sampla is situated on National Highway Number 10, the Community Health Centre at Sampla would remain open round-the-clock.
He announced a scheme of Rs 16 crore for laying water supply and sewerage lines in Sampla town and sanctioned Irrigation projects costing Rs 27 crore for enhancing the water carriage capacity of various canals.
The Chief Minister said that because of enhancement in rates of acquisition of land, the Government would have to pay Rs 500 crore more to the farmers for the land acquired for express way.
