Governor Krishna greets people on Guru Nanak Jayanti

Mumbai, Nov 3 (UNI) Maharashtra Governor S M Krishna has greeted the people of the state on the occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti which falls on Sunday.

In a message, Mr Krishna said Guru Nanakji stood for the oneness of mankind, care for the underprivileged and respect for all faiths.

''He was way ahead of times in his thinking and opposed religious rituals and caste system. Doing away with the narrow walls of regionalism, casteism and communalism that divide us and working towards creation of an egalitarian society would be a real tribute to Guru Nanakji,'' he added.
