Gao for Trans Himalayan road along McMohan Line

Itanagar, Nov 3 (UNI) Lok Sabha member of Arunachal Pradesh Tapir Gao has demanded construction of Trans Himalayan road along the Mcmohan Line.

Mr Gao, who accompanied the union minister of State for Defence M M Pallam Raju to Tezpur in Asom, urged the visitor for making such road during a review meeting of Border Roads Organisation (BRO) of Northeast yesterday.

Mr Gao suggested that roads should be constructed along the McMohan line strating from Bomdila. Nafra, Lada, Chayantajo, Koloriang, Lemiking, Nacho, Mechuka, payung, Miging, Tuting, Singga, Etalin, Hunli, Hayuliang, Hawai, Vijaaynagar and Miao. In Tawang, west Kameng, east Kameng. west Siang, upper Siang, Anjaw and Changland districts of the state, officials sources here today said.

He also urged the minister to ensure support to BRO from Air Force for lifting and dropping of machineries, medicines and essential commodities in the interior places of the state.

Mr Gao also emphasised on immediate completion of NH 52 from Baihata in Asom's Kamrup district to Rupai in Arunachal's west Kameng district besides conversion of all existing wooden bridges into RCC for east and comfortable movement of traffic.

Mr Gao stressed on the need to land over the road connecting Pasighat in east Siang district to Panging and Yiongkiong to Singga in upper Siang district and Miao to Vijaynagar in Changlang district.
