FFA Secretary invited for meet on farmers

Tirupati, Nov 3(UNI) The M S Swaminathan Research Foundation has invited T Adikesavulu Reddy, General Secretary of the Federation of Farmers Association (FFA), Chittoor unit to participate in a consultation meeting at Jeypore in Orissa tomorrow on "Developing Guidelines for Reward and Recongition of farmers who contribute to development of plant variety." According to a press release, the meeting is being organised by M S Swaminathan Research Foundation in collaboration with the 'Protection of Plant Varieties and Farmers' Rights Authority.

Different stake holders involved in conservation of plant varieties and development, will attend the meeting, which will be co-chaired by Dr M S Swaminathan and officials of governemnt of India, the release said.

Mr Reddy will share his expertise on red sandal, a species unique to forests in south India, in the meeting, the release added.
