Farmers continue protest as talks remain inconclusive
Sriganganagar, Nov 3 (UNI) Farmers in Ganganagar, Hanumangarh district are continuing their agitation for irrigation water today as talks between their leaders and government officials remained inconclusive.
The protesting farmers in Ganganagar's Gharsana and Hanumangarh's Rawatsar are demanding their share of irrigation water from Indira Gandhi Canal Project a and relief package for the dead farmer Chanduram Saran's family.
However, the state government officials says the compensation package will be decided only after the viscera report comes.
The viscera report is likely to come tomorrow, while the next round of talks are likely to be held on Monday.
The farmers shifted their camp to Karanpur from Bhadra in Hanumangarh district after prohibitory orders were promulgated in Bhadra from yesterday. Agitation is also on at Chaiya in Hanumangarh The Kisan Mazdoor Vyapari Sangharsh Samiti have decided to hold a meeting in Khajuwala in Bikaner.
