ED can record Dossa's statement in match-fixing case
Mumbai, Nov 3 (UNI) The TADA court here today granted permission to the Enforcement Directorate to record the statement of Mohammed Ahmed Dossa alias Mustafa Majnu, who has been deported from Dubai and currently lodged in the Arthur Road jail here, in connection with a cricket match-fixing case.
Special court judge P D Kode granted the permission following an application by the Enforcement Directorate which wanted to record Dossa's statement in the match-fixing case. While granting permission, the court said the statement should be recorded on November 6 in the presence of Dossa's counsel Swapnil Wagh in the Arthur Road jail.
While seeking permission, the Enforcement Directorate had said the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), while investigating Dossa's role in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts, had also gained knowledge of Dossa's involvement in the match-fixing case.
It may be recalled that that an application by the Gujarat police is also pending before the TADA court for Dossa's custody as it wants to interrogate him in connection with an arms landing case in Porbander.
