Dengue claims 155 lives, 9360 people infected with disease

New Delhi, Nov 3 (UNI) With three more persons succumbing to dengue during the past 24 hours, the death toll due to the viral disease has risen to 155 while the number of infected persons has risen to 9360, Health Ministry said here.

In Delhi, NCR and neighbouring states, 57 persons have died of dengue till now while the number of persons infected with the disease has gone upto 2814. Out of these, 1749 cases have been reported from Delhi alone, while 1065 cases are from the NCR and other states.

Haryana has reported 330 cases of dengue, 574 cases have come from Uttar Pradesh, 22 from Rajasthan and 139 from other states.

Besides Delhi, the maximum number of dengue cases have been reported from Rajasthan (1224) followed by Punjab (922), West Bengal (864), Kerala (849), Uttar Pradesh (605), Maharashtra (582), Gujarat (475), Haryana (395), Tamil Nadu (324), Andhra Pradesh (99) and Karnataka (92).

Meanwhile, the number of confirmed cases of Chikungunya has gone up to 1695 which include 40 from Delhi and NCR region. The maximum number of confirmed Chikungunya cases have been reported from Maharashtra (684), followed by Karnataka (294), Andhra Pradesh (248), Gujarat (170), Tamil Nadu (116), Madhya Pradesh (70) Kerala (38) and Pondicherry (9).
