Delhi Master Plan 2021 to be notified by Jan beginning: Patil
New Delhi, Nov 3 (UNI) Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil today said the Delhi Development Authority will complete the Delhi Master Plan 2021 in all respects by mid December and the Urban Development Ministry will notify it in the beginning of January 2007.
He said this while talking to a delegation of BJP MLAs, led by Deputy Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha V K Malhotra and Leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly Jagdish Mukhi, who called on him on the issue of sealing and demolition in the capital.
Mr Patil, however, said notification of the Master Plan may not give full relief to shopkeepers as the Municipal Corporation of Delhi could demolish their shops on account of being unauthorised constructions.
Prof Malhotra suggested that along with implementing the Master Plan 2021, a one-time amnesty scheme should also be brought by issuing an ordinance on the pattern of Ullhas Nagar in Maharashtra and Banglore in Karnataka to regularise the unauthorised construction except those in the 'negative trade list' and encroachments on public land.
The delegation also submitted a memorandum, demanding that the reject the Delhi government's request for deploying para-military forces in the city to carry out sealing effectively.
Demanding an immediate end to the sealing drive, the delegation sought that the Master Plan 2021 and zonal plans connected to it should be immediately notified after making provisions for commercial/mixed landuse of the roads in residential areas.
