Corrupt personnel won't be tolerated: Kashmir police chief

Srinagar, Nov 3 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir Police today said personnel involved in extortion and corrupt means would not be tolerated.

Taking serious note of the incidents of extortion in which among others, some police personnel were also found involved, Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kashmir S M Sahai has asked the concerned officers to deal sternly with the errant ones.

He said the personnel found indulging in such nefarious deeds would not be tolerated. Stern action has been taken against the errant personnel found involved in the Aishmuqam incident, he added.

The IGP said strict action would be taken against anyone found guilty in future as well. ''Nobody is above law...Law enforcers have the duty to implement law. If they indulge in corrupt means, they will be punished severely,'' he added.
