Constable thrown out of vehicle, body burnt

Dehradun, Nov 3 (UNI) A car driver allegedly pushed out a police constable from his vehicle instantly killing him and burnt his body in Almorah district of Uttaranchal last night.

According to Almorah Superintendent of Police Satish Shukla, police constable Balbir Singh took a lift in a car to Police Line at around 2000 hrs. On reaching, he insisted the driver Ramesh Chandra Pandey to drop him at some other place which resulted in an argument between them. When the vehicle reached Karbala bend, the driver pushed Balbir out of the vehicle resulting in his instant death.

Driver, to hide his crime, allegedly poured diesel on the dead body and burnt it.

Later, when the driver was fleeing from the spot, his vehicle met with an accident with another car. Pandey was apprehended by the police at Lodia barrier.

''He has admitted to the police about the murder of the constable and burning of his body,'' SP said.
