Coir Board joining hands with AIR

Kochi, Nov 3 (UNI) The Coir Board, in association with the All India Radio, Thiruvananthapuram Station, is organizing a series of programmes connected with coir for public information.

Entitled "Kayarinu Karuthekan- Naadinu Nanmma Yekan" , which means ''to give strength to coir - to do good to the country'', the programme will be aired on every Wednesday at 1850 hrs. from November eight.

It will conclude on January 31, 2007. The programme will include discussions, interviews, documentaries and speeches on different subjects. Eminent personalities will participate in the programme and talk on various coir-related subjects.

This is the first time in the history of the Coir Board that such a programme is being organized for information to the public. In the concluding episode, Mr A C Jose, former MP and Chairman, Coir Board, will answer questions from the listeners.

The Coir Board was planning to organize similar programmes in other coir producing states also, Mr Jose said in a release here today.
