BSNL releases musicial CDs of SD Burman, Pankaj Mullick
Kolkata, Nov 03 (UNI) Calcutta Telephones under the Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited(BSNL) today released two gloden music CDs of maestros--Sachin Deb Burman and Pankaj Kumar Mullick--as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility.
Renowned Rabindra sangeet exponent Suchitra Mitra formally released the CDS at a function here in presence of Calcutta Telephones Chief General Manger S K Chatterjee and Swami Tyagarupanandaji, principal of Ramakrishna Mission Vidya Mandir at Belur and other dignitaries.
Ms Mitra and Swami Tyagarupanandaji paid rich tributes to the invaluable contribution of the musicians in the development of modern Indian songs and music. They hailed the efforts of BSNL in bringing the best of Indian musical talents to the public through the CDs.
"We hope that in future too Calcutta Telephones would make similar efforts to pay tributes to other great musicians and successful luminaries in their respective fields," they said.
Mr Chatterjee highlighted some of BSNL's programmes as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility.
BSNL authorities also handed over the three best Durga puja prizes to as many organisers in the city as judged by the people through SMS in BSNL network. The prizes amounting Rs 50,001, 20,001 and 10,001 and three trophies were handed over to the winners' representatives.
