AP Minister orders enquiry into fire accident

Hyderabad, Nov 3 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Home Minister K Jana Reddy today said a comprehensive inquiry into the fire that broke out in the Salar Jung museum would be carried out by the officials of the museum and the police.

Talking to newspersons after visiting the museum, the Home Minister said better fire prevention systems were essential and the existing arrangements would be reviewed.

He said according to initial information, the fire was caused by an electrical short circuit.

The Minister, commended the services of the fire service department, and said it had responded in time to avoid major loss.

Mr Reddy, who is also incharge of the fire service, said the government would set up more fire stations in the twin cities and acquire modern equipments.
