Angelina threat: CP says adequate measures have been taken
Pune, Nov 3 (UNI) In view of reports of threat to Hollywood star Angelina Jolie from Islamic terrorist group ''Al-Qaeda'', the city police has taken adequate precautionary measures, informed Pune Police Commissioner D N Jadhav here today.
The Police Commissioner told UNI that although there was no official brief on the threat, yet the city police had beefed up security following reports in a section of the press.
''I have received no official intimation. There is no issue about the category of security to be extended. However, on our part, we have taken adequate precautionary measures following the media reports,'' Mr Jadhav said.
Police sources, meanwhile, said neither the Crime Branch nor the local CID had any information pertaining to the threat to the Hollywood star.
Since the last couple of days, a section of the press has been reporting about an imminent threat to the Hollywood star.
Angelina along with star actor Brad Pitt and son Maddox, had arrived in the city around a month back for the shooting of the film ''A Mighty Heart'' based on the life of American journalist Daniel Pearl who was brutally murdered by terrorists in Karachi in 2002.
Sindh Colony in Aundh locality of the city has been chosen for the shooting of the film as the locale and ambience have marked similarity to that of Karachi.
