Actress E V Saroja dead

Chennai, Nov 03 (UNI) Veteran actress of yesteryears E V Saroja died following a heart attack this evening.

She was 74.

Wife of popular film producer and director T V Ramanna, Saroja is survived by a daughter.

Ms Saroja was being treated at a private hospital following chest pain, family sources said.

The body was kept at her brother E V Rajan's residence at suburban Kottivakkam, where she was staying. The cremation would take place tomorrow, the sources added.

Ms Saroja began her career as a stage artiste before making her debut in 'Enn Thangai' with the legendary M G Ramachandran.

'Madurai Veeran', 'Veerathirumagan', 'Kulebagavali' and 'Padikatha Medhai' were some popular films she acted in. She was honoured with the 'MGR Award' during the previous Jayalalithaa regime.
