2 Malegaon blast case suspects booked under MCOCA
Mumbai, Nov 3 (UNI) MCOCA court today remanded two suspects, arrested by the Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS) in connection with the September Malegaon blasts and booked under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act, to ATS custody till November 16.
Noorul Huda Samsudoha (23) and Shabbir Ahmed Masiullah (36) were produced before MCOCA court judge Mrudula Bhatkar by the ATS which sought their custody. The court granted the request and remanded them to ATS custody till November 16.
Noorul Huda was arrested on October eight and booked under the Unlawful Activities Act. During investigations, it emerged that he is a member of the banned Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI).
The second accused Masiullah was arrested yesterday. Masiullah had allegedly undergone arms training in Pakistan and was trained to handle sophisticated arms, ammunition and explosives.
On the basis of the revelations, the investigating officer proposed that both of them be booked under MCOCA and it was accorded approval by the Deputy Inspector General of Police and Additional Commissioner of Police, ATS, Mumbai.
Meanwhile, the ATS told the court that Mohammed Zahid Abdul Majid, Riyaz Ahmed Shafiq Ahmed and Ishtiaq Ahmed Mohamed Isaq are wanted in this case.
