Rs 1.61 crore disbursed, 792 appointed in south Kashmir
Srinagar, Nov 2 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir government has distributed Rs 1.61 crore among 12,387 beneficiaries under different schemes and also appointed 792 anganwari workers and helpers in Pulwama district of South Kashmir.
An official spokesman said under Integrated Social Security Scheme, Rs 1.20 crore were distributed among 12,387 beneficiaries.
He said Rs 41 lakh were disbursed among 440 beneficiaries till August this year under National Old Age Pension Scheme (NOAPS).
As many as 388 anganwari centres were opened in district during last financial year of which 346 are fully functional and remaining would be made functional shortly.
He said with the result of opening of these centre 364 anganwari workers and similar number of helpers were appointed.
The Centre has sanctioned another 6,000 anganwari centres for the state, he added.
