Rs 1.52 cr ex-gratia package for 4,747 retired railwaymen

New Delhi, Nov 2 (UNI) The Union Cabinet today approved a Rs 1.52 crore annual ex-gratia package for the 4,747 surviving State Railway Provident Fund (Contributory) members who retired on superannuation between April 1, 1957 and December 31, 1985.

Group A employees will get Rs 3,000 per month as basic ex-gratia, Group B employees Rs 1,000, Group C Rs 750 and Group D Rs 650, Finance Minister P Chidambaram told reporters after the Cabinet meeting.

The basic ex-gratia will be given alongwith dearness ex-gratia and dearness relief instead of the exisitng uniform rate of basic ex-gratia of Rs 600 plus dearness ex-gratia and dearness relief.
