Reddy assures Khurana of a way out of the sealing imbroglio
New Delhi, Nov 2 (UNI) Union Urban Development Minister Jaipal Reddy today said the government was doing its bit on the ongoing sealing controversy and will find a way out of the imbroglio.
Giving this assurance to former Delhi Chief Minister Madan Lal Khurana, who met him today along with former Transport Minister Rajendra Gupta this afternoon, Mr Reddy said the government was seized of the seriousness of the matter and was sincerely thinking over providing some relief to those affected by the sealing drive.
During the nex session of Parliament, something would be done positively, Mr Khurana quoted the minister as having told him during his one hour meeting.
''Mr Reddy also conceded that the three-day 'bandh' was unprecedented since Independence and the traders of all hues participated in it on their own to save their livelihood and not on the instigation of any political party,'' Mr Khurana told mediapersons.
The minister also told Mr Khurana that if needed, the Constitution would be amended to provide relief to the affected.
He was also informed that commercialisation in industrial areas on payment of development charges has been allowed and the order had already come into effect.
