Punjab demolish J and K, win by an innings and 374 runs
Patiala, Nov 2 (UNI) Punjab showed no mercy to the depleted Jammu and Kashmir team, crushing them by an innings and 374 runs on the second day of the Poly Umrigar Trophy (Under-15) at the Dhruv Pandav Stadium, here today.
Overnight 261 for two, Punjab resumed their second innings today on a hurricane note. Pargat Singh-(116), Mandeep Singh-(112), Ankit-(91) and Amandeep Singh-(58) flogged the mediocre J and K bowling attack and hit at will.
Punjab scored 487 for seven and declared. For J and K, Dilawar Singh captured three wickets conceding 119 runs and Owais Shah took 2 for 147.
The Punjab bowlers were as lethal as their fellow bat wielders.
They bundled out the puny rivals for 51 in their second innings in 21.2 overs.
Raj Kamal took five for 20 and Sandeep Sharma captured 3 wickets giving away 18 runs.
Punjab will now play against Himachal Pradesh here at the Dhruv Pandav Stadium from November 21-23.
