Police arrests mentally ill person for trespassing

Chennai, Nov 2 (UNI) Airport security personnel today arrested a mentally ill person for trespassing into the protected area of the airport here last night.

Police said one Sathish Kumar (22) of Nesappakkam here gained entry into the back side of the airport.

He was caught, when he was trying to come out through the sixth gate.

Later, he was handed over to local police for further interrogation.

The incident attained significance as the UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh are scheduled to visit the state on November three and four.

Following the incident, security had been tightened in and around the airport, police added.
