Mysore beautification project in two months
Mysore, Nov 2: The Rs Five crore first phase beautification project of the city of palaces will be taken up by the India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) within two months.
Speaking to reporters here, ITDC Architect Paresh Padgonkar from Mumbai said it was part of the Rs 50 crore project, sanctioned by the Union Government Inspecting various places in the city, he said three attractive welcome arches would be erected at the three entry points to the city -- Bandipalya on Nanjangud-Udhagamandalam road, near K R Mills on Bangalore-Mysore highway and Hootagalli junction on Hunsur road.
A full-fledged tourist information centre, cafetaria, children's playing area and parking lot would be constructed near the arches.
Nishad Bagh in the heart of the city would be developed at a cost of Rs one crore, besides three circles. Tenders would be invited shortly and work would commence in the next two months, he added.
