Indefinite fast by labour leader near HDK's house
Gulbarga, Nov 2: State Daily Wagers Association President Chandrasekhar Hiremath will launch a fast-unto-death in front of Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy's residence in Bangalore on November 27, demanding regularisation of their services.
Informing this at a press conference here today, Mr Hiremath said the Association had given a 'Bangalore Chalo' call to about 17,000 daily wage employees on that day. ''All the daily wage employees will come to Bangalore on November 27 along with their families and stage a demonstration there.'' It may be recalled that the daily wagers had observed a relay hunger strike for a record period of 489 days, before calling it off following an assurance from the State Government. However, despite four months passing since giving the assurance, the Government had done nothing.
