Farmers' suicides restricted to 6 districts in Mah: Pawar

Baramati, Maharashtra, Nov 2 (UNI) Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar today said that suicides by farmers were restricted to only six districts of Maharashtra and the state government had extended substantial assistance to the farming community.

Talking to reporters here, Mr Pawar said it was also the responsibility of media to create confidence among the farmers in grappling with the situation and finding solutions.

Defending the choice of Baramati for setting up the first digital hospital and WiMax Network to help equip 100 mobile computer labs in Baramati, the Minister said the young wanted the technology and Baramati's example can be replicated in other parts of the country.
