Credit Suisse launches Centre of Excellence at Pune

Mumbai, Nov 2 (UNI) As part of its global sourcing initiative plans, Credit Suisse today announced the launch of its new Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Pune.

Briefing reporters here today, Credit Suisse (Asia Pacific) CEO Paul Calello said, ''We would be recruiting 1,500 staff for departments like information technology, finance, human resource and operations for the new CoE within a period of 18 months.'' The recruitment process will commence in January.

The bank has signed contracts with Wipro Technologies for an initial two-year commitment covering the lease of premises at Pune and the provision of outsourced services for a wide range of banking functions, including IT, operations, finance and front office analytics.

The new CoE follows similar centres established in Singapore and North Carolina in the United States. In May this year, the company opened one raffles key at its Singapore facility.

The country head of investment banking in India of the company, Mihir Doshi, said the new Pune site will support the bank's businesses across 50 countries globally and will grow to eventually support 1,500 staff.
