CITU to organise free checkup camp for truck operators

Kolkata, Nov 2 (UNI) The CPI(M)'s labour wing Centre of Indian Trade Unions(CITU) would set up free medical checkup camps on November 8 for the truck drivers and helpers to make them aware of the HIV/AIDS disease.

" In all ten lakh truck drivers and helpers are engaged in goods carriage business in the state. We have decided to set up 100 free medical checkup camps for their awareness, " Transpost Minister Subhas Chakraborty told a press conference here today.

" We have earmarked Rs 50 lakh for this purpose, " he said.
