CCEA approval for modernisation of Patent Offices
New Delhi, Nov 2 (UNI) The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) today gave its approval for implementation of the project for modernisation and restructuring of Patent Offices during the remaining part of the Tenth five year plan at a revised cost of Rs 137.58 crores.
Briefing newspersons on the outcome of the CCEA meeting, Finance Minister P Chidambaram said the modernised Patent Offices would be able to provide efficient services to scientific and industrial communities and would encourage creative and innovative activities, leading to industrial and technolgical development.
The Patent Offices are located in New Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai and Mumbai.
