68 fake ST certificate detected in the state

Agartala, Nov 2 (UNI) A three-member scrutiny committee, led by Commissioner of Tribal Welfare department in Tripura S.K.Das, has cancelled 68 Scheduled Tribes (ST) certificates after finding them fake.

Official sources said that altogether 141 doubtful cases of ST certificates were sent to Vigilance Department for conducting scrutiny.

After investigation the scrutiny committee detected 68 ST certificate as fake and cancelled them. Nine were found genuine.

Cases were pending and investigation for the remaining 64 certificates.

Earlier, 48 such certificates was cancelled sources said adding that action against the offenders will be taken as per law.

Among those who had those 68 fake certificate were TCS grade two officers, health workers, head master, bank employee, ongc officer executive engineer, district and sessions judges and forest ranger besides students.
