24 films to be screened at Asian Women's Film Fete
Kozhikode, Nov 2 (UNI) Twentyfour films by eminent women film directors from Asian countries, including India, would be screened at the Asian Women's Film Festival Kozhikode 2006 beginning here on November 4.
Many documentaries dwelling on burning issues would also be shown in the fouur-day event, the organisers told reporters here today.
Among the significant entries are ''My Life as a Poster'' by Shasshwati Talukar, ''A Certain Liberation'' by Yasmine Kabir (Bangladesh ), ''Kagad Kaanch Patra'' by Reema Borah, ''Printed Rainbow'' by Tijanjali Rao and ''My Confession - the Picture Diary'' by Yew Mien (Malaysia), they said.
Titled ''Imaginations,'' the festival has been dedicated to activist Irome Sharmeela for her relentless fight against alleged human rights violations by the Army in Manipur, they said.
