UPA Govt delaying Afzal's execution, eyeing vote bank: Naidu

Tirupati, Nov 1 (UNI) Former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President M Venkaiah Naidu today charged the Congress-led United progressive Alliance (UPA) Government with delaying the execution of Afzal's death sentence eyeing 'vote-bank politics' in the ensuing Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, New Delhi and Punjab.

Addressing a press conference here, Mr Naidu said his party would raise the delay in executing Afzal's sentence in the Parliament during the winter session, beginning from November 22.

The party would organise a march to Parliament at the start of the winter session to expose the harmful policies of the Congress-led government.

Demonstrations would be organised at 14 places, where major terrorist attacks had taken place.

The main issues, the BJP plans to higlight, were farmers suicide, price rise, Women's Bill and terrorism, Mr Naidu said.

He said in the coming Assembly elections in the four states, the party would contest alone.
