Two brothers freed in suspected UK airline bomb plot
LONDON, Nov 1 (Reuters) Two brothers charged with failing to disclose information about a suspected plot to bomb US-bound airlines in August walked free from court today when a judge threw out the charges.
Mehran and Umair Hussain were originally charged with failing to tell police that their brother Nabeel, who has been charged with conspiracy to murder and plotting terrorism, was involved in the suspected plot.
''The charges were discharged. The judge did not believe there was sufficient information to put before a jury,'' a spokesman for the City of Westminster Magistrate's Court told Reuters.
Fifteen other people still face charges in relation to the alleged plot which caused havoc at Britain's airports at the height of the summer tourist season when police pounced and airlines initially banned all liquids from hand luggage.
Of those, 13 face the most serious charges of plotting to commit mass murder over the Atlantic.
