Residents resort to agitation protesting rain water menace

Puducherry, Nov 1(UNI) The residents of Poyyakkulam near here today picketed the office of the District Collector at Saram near here.

The agitation was to protest against the failure of the administration to pump out the rain water from their area.

On hearing the news, D Nagar police rushed to the spot and held talks with the agitators, and their representatives were allowed to meet the Collector and present a memorandum.

Following the Collector's assurance that he would visit the area and take steps to pump out the water, they called off their agitation.
