Rahul scores hattrick in Kota school victory in Nehru Jr hockey
New Delhi, Nov 1 (UNI) Rahul Singh scored a fine hat-trick to help Sagar Higher Secondary School, Kota, blank Government Boys High School, Jashpurnagar (Chhattisgarh) 4-0 in the 35th Nehru Junior Hockey Tournament here today.
Rahul sounded the board in the 35th, 39th and 40th minutes -- all of them field goals -- before team mate Manoj Saxena rounded off the tally in the 46th minute.
In another match, Motilal Nehru School of Sports, Rai, pounded Damodar English High School, Goa, 6-0 with Ajay Kumar (13th, 29th, 54th) and Amit Kumar (40th, 48th, 58th) scoring three goals apiece.
Sainik School, Bijapur, thrashed Mission Higher Secondary School, Jabalpur, 7-1 in another high scoring match. Ravi (7th, 32nd, 36th), Rahul (1st, 24th) and Balan Gouda (43rd, 54th) scored for the winners while Guru Prasad pulled one back for the hapless Jabalpur School in the 40th minute.
In the other match of the day, Government Higher Secondary School, Gurgaon, drubbed NCC Andhra Pradesh 5-1 with Naveen Kumar (20th), Sandeep (22nd), Sandip (30th), Ved Parkash (39th) and Pardeep Kumar (49th) scoring a goal apiece.
B Jaya Surya Prakash (23rd) reduced the margin for the losers.
