Madhuri lake a hit among locals, tourists in Arunachal Pradesh
Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh, Nov 1 (UNI) Filmstar Madhuri Dikshit might have taken a long sabbath from her film career but that has not diminished her fame even in the remotest areas of the country.
People in this ''Hidden Paradise'', located in the North Eastern corner of the country, fondly remember the ''Ek Do Teen'' girl even today courtesy 'Sangetser' lake which is popularly referred to as the ''Madhuri Lake''.
A visit to the land of 'Monpas' is incomplete without seeing the lake which was formed during the earthquake of 1950 at 13,000 ft. Surrounded by tree-clad hills, the lake waters have bare tree stums standing out like guards on vigil.
The leading lady of many a film had shot the chart-buster number 'Dekha Tujhe To' for her hit movie 'Koyla' in 1997 in this picturesque spot-- and the name has since been etched into the memory of the people here.
''I wanted to see the lake which is named after the actor.
Many people have recommended the place... The person who scouted this location deserves praise,'' said an awestruck Gautam Rai, who was part of a media delegation which early this week visited Tawang.
A reflection of the azure sky in the crystal clear waters of the lake-- 42 km from here-- shimmers like shivered mirror.
