Indian goods floor Chinese troops
Bumla, China, Nov 1 (UNI) If Chinese goods are a hit with the Indian people, it's Indian perfumes, wines and incense sticks which score big on the wish list of the Chinese Army personnel among other things.
Indian perfumes, 'agarbati', marble chess board from Agra, wine and biscuits -- ''very popular items among'' the Chinese troops-- were gifted to the Chinese delegation during the the fourth and final Border Personnel Meeting of 2006 here on Monday.
Indian delegation head Brig Sanjay Kulkarni, the CO of the 190 Mtn Bde handed over the goodiebag to his Chinese counterpart Col Li Ming An, who was the host for the event at the 15,000 Ft borderpost.
''Our Chinese counterparts are very fond of these items particularly perfumes and incense sticks. We like to present them these,'' said Brig Kulkarni.
In return, Col Li presented Chinese artifacts, wines and eatables besides other items to Brig Kulkarni for the troops and the delegation.
The Chinese hosted the Indian delegates for the second scheduled BPM meeting for which they had erected tents at the outpost in their territory across the Line of Actual Control.
The other scheduled meeting, along the India-China border in Arunachal Pradesh's Tawang region, is held on May 30 and is hosted by India.
Two other BPM's are held on India's Independence Day -- August 15 -- and Chinese National Day -- October 1.
