Ganganagar village in a tizzy over one more death
Sriganganagar, Nov 1 (UNI) The death of a 65-year-old woman in 17 KD village in Ganganagar district this morning had the farmers and administration officials in a tizzy.
Family members alleged Parmeshwari Devi had sustained injuries in the police lathicharge on October 20.
However, it was revealed that Parmeshwari Devi ws suffering from cancer and she had been admitted at Bikaner's PBM Hospital for treatment.
Parmeshwari Devi died around 0400 hrs am at her house. Her two sons Satpal and Radheyshyam are currently lodged in the jail in connection with farmers agitation in Gharsana for demanding irrigation water from the Indira Gandhi Canal Project.
Initially her family members said she had sustained injuries in the police lathicharge but later her brother and the Sarpanch admitted at Raola police station that she was suffering from cancer.
After the rumours about her cause of death started spreading, the district administration sent for her reports from Bikaner's PBM hospital.
District Collector Kunjilal Meena said Parmeshwari Devi was admitted in the hospital on October 27. On Tuesday, her family members brought her back to their village.
Mr Meena said Parmeshwari Devi had not suffered any injuries in the police lathicharge. He said her two sons would be bailed out to perform last rites of their mother.
