Creamy layer should not be deprived of quota benefits: Paswan

Jaipur, Nov 1 (UNI) Lok Jan Shakti leader and Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan strongly advocated quota benefits for the creamy layer among the reserved category.

Putting a question mark over the identification process of creamy layer, Mr Paswan asked how will the government be able to seek out the so-called creamy layer.

Mr Paswan said they have asked for amendment of the Constitution in this regard, saying the matter is being currently debated at the Supreme Court.

Mr Paswan here today laid the foundation stone of Central Institute of Plastic Engineering&Technology (CIPET), which is likely to be completed within the next two years.

CIPET centres provide practical training and render technical services to the plastics and allied industries. Under the tenth th Five Year Plan, the Central government has approved three new CIPET centres at Jaipur, Aurangabad and Panipat.

The CIPET centre here would be established at a total cost of Rs 20.5 crores shared equally by the Centre and state government.
