Cong seeks gazette notification on protection of women bill

Agartala, Nov 01 (UNI) The opposition Congress in Tripura today demanded immediate issuance of Gazette Notification by the state government on the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, (PWDV), passed by Parliament recently.

In a letter to Governor Dinesh Nandan Sahaya, Opposition leader in the state assembly Ratan Lal Nath requested him to ensure that the state government immediately issues the Gazette Notification.

Mr Nath mentioned in his letter that though the central government issued the Notification on October 25, Tripura was yet to do so.

The act covers a wide range of offences against women.
