CM pooh-poohs reports on security threat to Goa
Panaji, Nov 1 (UNI) Dismissing reports of a security threat to the tourist state of Goa, Chief Minister Pratapsinh Rane today said the state was ''fully prepared to meet emergencies in case of any insurgency activities''.
Reacting on media reports, the Chief Minister told newspersons here the government could not remain complacent but will continue to take precautionary measures.
Security would be further be beefed up in view of the International Film Festival of India beginning here on November 23 and the 'peaking' of the tourist season.
An additional battalion of 500 trained police personnel would be deployed all over the state as a precautionary measure besides stepping up intelligence, he added.
