BHU students paint Ash in vibrant colours on 33rd b'day

Varanasi, Nov 1 (UNI) Even as fans were curious about Aishwarya Rai's wedding plans, art students at the Banaras Hindu University (BHU) here today took a day out to fashion over 40 colourful portraits only to say ''Happy 33rd Birthday'' to the hazel-eyed former Miss World.

''Its a perfectly creative birthday gift to an artist who has enslaved people across the globe with her beauty and acting. The students will create more portraits of the Bollywood beauty and then courier it to her in Mumbai,'' said Ravindra Mishra, the head of painting department in the Faculty of Visual Arts, BHU.

Spanning from Paro of Devdas to Nandini of Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, hit filmy characters played by Aish were painted on the canvass by over 60 young painters including Mamta Bunty, Pooja Singh, Sunil, Anil and Radha.

''What better way to offer a perfect birthday gift to Aish, but to use the stroke of paintbrush and palette of vibrant colours to fashion on the canvass, hit silver screen characters played by her,'' said Mamta and Pooja, students of Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA).

''We will continue painting as much portraits of our loved actress for the next two days by bunking classes only to send a bulky but a memorably colourful gift to Aish,'' they added.
