Bandit demands Rs 33 lakh ransom

Morena, MP, Nov 1 (UNI) Dacoit Jagjivan Parihar, operating in Madhya Pradesh's Gwalior-Chambal region, has demanded a ransom of Rs 11 lakh each for three abductees.

The Parihar gang, which carries a reward of Rs 5 lakh, sent the ransom note through abductee Ramgovind Gujjar who was freed in the Guda Chambal ravine. The gang abducted five persons from this district late on October 28. Narendra was released that night itself. Rajendra, Ramlakhan Gujjar and Pravendra Sandotia alias Gudda are still in the bandits' clutches.

''Jagjivan has set a fortnight's deadline for the ransom,'' Gujjar told mediapersons. After being freed, he walked to Chowkipura in Rajasthan's Dholpur district and subsequently contacted Morena police.

The police yesterday raided the residence of ruling Bharatiya Janata Party MLA Gajraj Singh Sikarwar's younger brother Vrindavansingh in connection with the latter's alleged links with Jagjivan.
