Bandh causes loss of about Rs 1500 crore: Traders
New Delhi, Nov 1 (UNI) Delhi traders today claimed that the three-day bandh had caused an estimated loss of about Rs 1500 crore.
The Confederation of All Inadia Traders, which is spearheading the anti-sealing agitation, said transport and courier services also suffered major business losses.
It also claimed that the Delhi Govenment incurred VAT revenue loss of about Rs 75 crore.
On the eve of resumption of the sealing drive tomorrow, large-scale vandalism, traffic chaos and effigy burning marked the culmination of the three-day Delhi Bandh, called in protest against the measure, even as 360 people were detained by the police in this connection.
Reports of bus burning, road blockades and demonstrations poured in from nearly all parts of the Capital especially East Delhi.
