Algeria says rebel bombs will not derail peace
ALGIERS, Nov 1 (Reuters) Algerian rebel bomb attacks on police stations that killed three people will not derail efforts to promote national reconciliation after years of strife, Interior Minister Noureddine Yazid Zerhouni said today.
Zerhouni, giving the government's first reaction to the rebels' most elaborate attacks in years, told state radio insurgent groups trying to set up an Islamic state had been weakened and the Sunday night bombings were isolated events.
''The latest terrorist attacks are isolated acts and will not have an impact on the process of national reconciliation,'' he said. ''The strength of the armed groups has been weakened considerably.'' REUTERS PDM RK2213
