Aishwarya celebrates 33rd birthday with family

Mumbai, Nov 1 (UNI) Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai who has three big releases with diverse roles like 'Umrao Jaan', 'Dhoom 2' and 'Guru' lined up in the next few months, celebrated her 33rd birthday quietly with her family members.

Ash, as she is fondly called, saw her upcoming release 'Umrao Jaan' at a private screening last night. She received emails, SMSes and telephone calls from colleagues, friends and family at her home in the afternoon and prayed at the Siddhivinayak Temple here along with her family members in the evening.

Her business manager Hari Singh said the actress preferred to spend time with her parents, brother and sister-in-law.

This year has been an eventful year for Ash. Even though her international movie 'Mistress of Spice' bombed at the box office and she too got bad reviews, another film 'Provoked', directed by Jagmohan Mundhra, based on the real life incident of a Punjabi housewife Kiranjit Ahluwalia killing her abusive husband in England was well appreciated by critics. The film was screened at Cannes and IFFA weekend this year.

She will be seen in 'Umrao Jaan', directed by J P Dutta, which releases this week. Ash has lost several kilos for her upcoming venture with Hrithik Roshan in 'Dhoom 2', while in Mani Ratnam's 'Guru' she has been casted opposite Abhishek Bachchan.

Interestingly, the actress who has the distinction of being the only Indian female actor to be immortalised in wax at the Madame Tussads Museum in London will be seen with Abhishek in 'Umrao Jaan' and 'Guru'.

Rumours of her impending marriage with Abhishek Bachchan refuse to die down. Earlier this year, there were reports that Abhishek's uncle Ajitabh Bachchan had visited an astrologer in Bangalore who has close association with the Rai family, with the horoscopes of the two actors.
