VIP's incme up

Chennai, Oct 31 (UNI) VIP Industries Ltd., Asia's largest luggage manufacturer, reported total income of Rs 82.69 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2006 compared to Rs 70.72 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year, marking 17 per cent growth.

Profit After Tax had decreased from Rs 0.82 crore to Rs 0.10 crore in the second quarter of this year ended September 30, 2006, a company release here said.

Exports had risen sharply by 68 per cent to Rs 19.53 crore during the quarter compared to Rs 11.63 crore in the corresponding quarter of last year, with substantial contribution from the "Carlton" range of premium luggage, it said.
