VHP warns against 'secular' move to stall court verdict on Ram Templ

New Delhi, Oct 31 (UNI) Sensing a positive court verdict on the Ram Temple issue, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad today cautioned the people against ''secular forces'' trying to stall the judgement, which was about to be delivered, through 'negative comments'.

However, VHP chief Ashok Singhal addressing mediapersons, declined to comment whether he would acknowledge the court verdict on the Ram Temple and instead countered, ''Will the Muslims accept the court verdict?'' Hitting at ''secular forces'', opposed to Hindutva and opposing the building of the temple, Mr Singhal called on all political parties to help build the Ram Temple, saying no hurdles be raised by them in the noble job.

Accusing Dwaka Shankaracharya Swami Swaroopanand of trying to vitiate the atmosphere through irrelevant utterances just when the court verdict was about to come, Mr Singhal said such comments were an attempt to stall the judgement on the Ram Temple issue.

''Swaroopanandji is a highly respected figure and I regard him in high esteem so I would not like to say much but I am apprehensive that his statements could stall the impending judgement which was already coming after more than a decade.'' Earlier too, during 'shilanayas' he had tried to create hurdles by forming another 'group' to begin temple construction from the 'garbh griha' which was impractical then as the matter was in the court. These steps don't augur well for the cause we were fighting for, he said.

''Now he was saying something which might stall the judgement in the case which needs to be avoided. This smacks of a secular move.'' In view of this, 'sants' of the 'high-powered committee' under the chairmanship of Jyotishapeeth Shankaracharya Vasudevananda have decided to hold a two-day conference in Ayodhya on November 19.

''More than 3,000 'sants' from all over the country will hold the 'viraat sammelan' on November 19 in Ayodhya on the four core issues -- building of the Ram Temple from the 'garbh griha', no building of mosque within Ayodhya precincts, no mosque in India by the 'Babri' name, and the 'temple' be built by the Ram Janmabhoomi Nyas.'' Between December 1-6 'sankalp sabhas' would also be held all over the country to ward off any moves by others in pushing the judgement on the Ram Temple any further or digress from the main course of the temple movement, the VHP leader added.
